Min: State firms to switch fully to Russian OS, software by 2025

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 19 (PRIME) -- Russian state companies must ensure overall replacement of foreign operating systems, while the others should do it by 2025, Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said on June 17.

“The president on June 12 signed a decree that all the state companies must ensure comprehensive replacement of (foreign) operating systems, office package, systems of virtualization and database management till January 1, 2025. The KPI in this sense is decently tough. It will certainly give us additional demand,” Shadayev said.

The minister in April said that the authority suggested stipulating the deadline term on full transition to national software on the directions with mature IT solutions and competition by 2025 in the guidelines for the state companies.
